Learn about my story

  • Dr. Harrison's journey into physical therapy began not with her own need for rehabilitation, but with a profound sense of care for a college teammate. Witnessing her teammate's struggle and recovery ignited a passion within Dr. Harrison, setting the stage for a remarkable career dedicated to helping others thrive.

  • Driven by this newfound purpose, Dr. Harrison pursued a Doctorate in Physical Therapy, developing a deep appreciation for working with neurological populations. The relationships formed during therapy visits, filled with shared struggles and triumphs, further fueled her dedication. This passion led her back to academia, where she transitioned to a full-time faculty position at Azusa Pacific University, shaping the next generation of physical therapists.

  • Her career has been marked by a diverse range of clinical experiences, including outpatient neurological rehabilitation, home health, and acute care at Hoag Hospital. These roles provided a comprehensive perspective on patient care, culminating in her achievement of board certification as a Neurological Clinical Specialist in 2019. She has also been invited to speak at national conferences for the American Physical Therapy Association.

  • Currently, Dr. Harrison is pursuing a PhD in Rehabilitation and Movement Science, continuing her quest to advance the field and improve patient outcomes. Her commitment to holistic, individualized care inspired the creation of Coastal Elite PT, a concierge service embodying her dedication to providing all-inclusive, premiere quality care through collaborative approaches with medical teams and a personalized touch.
